Please note: Kaleidoscopic Arts does not operate anymore, but the website will stay live. It will serve 1) as a documentation of our work and the time we operated in and 2) as a source of information and support. Look around to learn and be encouraged and empowered. Konstantina & Lucia
We run and nourish a network of female choreographers, provide performance opportunities, professional development meetings and work in progress sharings with peer feedback.
Mission
It is our mission to support emerging female choreographers in making and promoting their work and making it accessible to a diverse audience, as well as advancing their careers. We want to enable dance and non-dance audiences to experience the diversity and excellence of work by female choreographers. We respond in this way to the issue that the current UK contemporary dance scene is dominated, not in quality and quantity, but in publicity and popularity, by male choreographers.
Who we are
Kaleidoscopic Arts was founded by dance artists and independent choreographers Konstantina Skalionta and Lucia Schweigert in 2014. Together they oversee all aspects of running Kaleidoscopic Arts. In 2015 Cecilia Berghäll joined them as general assistant.

On our website you can read about our work. In our blog you will not only find updates and history of our work, but also a discussion about women choreographers in dance and other posts that relate to Kaleidoscopic Arts’ mission.
Through interviews, opinions, and overviews we hope to draw attention and raise the voice of women choreographers in dance as well as help early-career choreographers with practical, relevant, real-world advice.
